The keys to good bike safety are simple maintenance, basic knowledge of the rules of the road, and a good, properly fitted helmet. Five local organizations have joined forces to make sure these are all available, for free, to our area children during this great Gear Up for Summer safety event.

Gear Up for Summer will include:

  • FREE Bike Safety Checks (and basic maintenance)
  • FREE Obstacle Course
  • FREE Helmets (while supplies last)
  • Helmet Fitting
  • Safety Quiz – with Prizes!
  • Special Visit by Bicycle Police Sgt. Eric Turrell

This event will take place at the north end of the Wednesday Farmers’ Market (but it is not affiliated with the Farmer’s Market) on Wednesday June 14, from 4pm until 5:30pm, making it a perfect opportunity for families to come downtown and enjoy both events.

A LOVE1st event created in cooperation with:

  • First Presbyterian Church
  • City of Coeur d’Alene Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee
  • Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association
  • Lake City Bicycle Collective
  • BikeCDA
