I think everyone can relate to a situation or experience in our lives where we thought we wanted one thing, but God wanted something better for us- we just didn’t know it at the time. Hi, I’m Connor Harris, I’m the new technology coordinator here at First Presbyterian Church. You’ve probably seen me around the halls or at the soundboard in the sanctuary. A few months ago, after I had moved back to Hayden, I found myself in a situation just like this picture. I was searching for a purpose- a place to be useful, there were many opportunities, but I also wanted to do something I’m passionate about. I knew I needed to trust God to lead me to something better. The “better” for me was finding a home at First Presbyterian Church doing what I love! Two and a half months have passed since my first day and every week is better than the week before. I have been welcomed with open arms from the staff and congregation and hope to foster long lasting relationships with each of you!
In the coming days, weeks and months ahead, as we have choices and decisions in life to make and as a reminder to myself and all of you I’d like to share one of my favorite bible verses-Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (Proverbs 3: 5-6).
