Jonathan, Juliet and two daughters are visiting our church for five Sundays, starting last week and continuing through August 24th. The family recently had a risky escape from Nicaragua where they have been serving as missionary partners of 1st Presbyterian Church of Coeur d’Alene. Jonathan will be a featured speaker in our Sunday worship service on August 12th.
The unrest in Nicaragua has been covered extensively in national news lately, both on television and print news, including the main stream media and the Wall Street Journal. Many protesting citizens have been murdered by the countries paramilitary troops supporting an unpopular president. The Stuck family escaped, leaving much of their personal belonging hidden in a friend’s farm house.
They initially visited a church in Arkansas that provided them with housing and transportation. After several weeks in Arkansas, visiting with a supporting church and Jonathan’s parents, they headed west to visit with us and Juliet’s Mom, who lives here in Coeur d’Alene.
Jonathan and Juliet are eager to meeting and speak to any of our members and church committees; if you would like to arrange a meet and greet, contact them through the church office or call or email Bob Fish, firstname.lastname@example.org or 949-365-6402. The Stucks will be staying with the Fish family during their stay in Coeur d’Alene.
