History of the Barb McPoland Clothing Giveaway
In 1983, 2nd grade teacher and Deacon, Barb McPoland saw a need to get back-to-school clothes in the hands of children. This has been an amazing program.
The program was managed with love and dedication by our Deacons for almost 40 years. It served our community well. As it happens, programs evolve as the needs of the community change. The yearly giveaway was replaced by The Love 1st Neighborhood which launched in 2022. This program supports our elementary children needs on a year-round basis.
