Family Promise of North Idaho (FPNI) is part of a national organization working locally to help homeless children and their families build new lives. They provide dedicated guidance and support to families with children who need temporary food and shelter while seeking permanent employment and affordable housing. 1st Pres has supported this program since 2008.
Our volunteers take on many tasks including providing food, hosting dinners, and act as overnight hosts.Additionally, many have provided monetary donations for unexpected expenditures during our week to serve.
Family Promise host congregations provide support, a listening ear, and meals. Guest families stay at the host church from Sunday afternoon to the following Sunday morning then moving to the next host location.
We welcome families to 1st Pres for one week, four times a year. Help needed includes but is not limited to set-up, take-down, food donation, dinner preparation, dinner host and overnight host.
