Quiet Worship at 10:30 am | Sunday Mornings
It can be hard to find a moment of peace and quiet in this loud, busy, ever-changing world and in our daily life. Our contemplative service seeks to provide a Christ-focused worship service with stillness and liturgy and time to attend to the needs of your soul.

This service focuses on Lectio Divina scripture reading, quiet meditation and responsive prayer, minimal acoustic music, weekly communion and a relevant message.

Contemplative Worship Resources

Lectio Divina approach to reading scripture
One of the ways God connects with us is through God's written word, which God describes as living and active rather than dead and static. The contemplative discipline of Lectio Divina, first established In the 6th century, encourages us to open our hearts to God and experience His presence through the text, rather than simply treating the text as an object of study or critique. During this spiritual practice in our Contemplative Service, scripture is read aloud, followed by a meditative silence then a re-reading of the same scripture followed by another period of silence. We encourage you to consider what word or phrase comes to you in the first reading & silence, and contemplate what God may have revealed to you during the second time of silence.

If you would like to explore this practice on your own consider this resource:

Contemplative Prayer Guides
Sometimes prayer isn't easy or intuitive. In order to help you explore conversation with God, every month or so we bring together several Bible verses into a simple prayer guide. Our goal is to help you establish, renew, or deepen your relationship with God and pray for the whole world. Click on the links below to access past prayer guides to download.
