Neal Nybo | Interim Pastor
Rev. Dr. Neal Nybo is a full-time interim pastor. Kindness and clarity are two topics Pastor Neal never tires of and he considers both vital aspects of the good news Jesus calls Christians to proclaim. He and his wife, Carolyn, have raised their two daughters, Annie and Emily in Southern California. Pastor Neal earned both his Master’s of Theology and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA. Through it all, Christ has led him to deeper levels of trust in him. |
Bonnie Piovesan | Church Administrator
Bonnie joined the 1st Pres staff in 2019. She has lived and worked in several states across the country and has a diverse background in several professions giving her a strong skill-set as our church administrator. She loves the many challenges of administrative work and is passionate about helping people solve the day to day issues to keep things running smoothly. Bonnie is married to Dean. They have two grown children and a grandson. Some of her many interests include camping, crafting, cooking, teaching and being with family and friends. |
Kyler O'Connor| Interim Director of Children & Families
Kyler has held various childcare and teaching jobs for the past 8 years, and has been taking care of the sweeties in the 1st Pres nursery and Adventure Kids since 2019. She is currently in her 5th year at Oregon State's ecampus for Archaeology and East Asian History, and has held a TEFL certification since 2018. Planning to return to Korea someday to teach English, Kyler would like to work on the preservation side of Archaeology as well. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog, Dixee, dancing, baking, and cooking. |
Kierstie Renninger | Director of Student Ministries
Kierstie has called 1st Pres home for most of her life and she loves working with youth and families. She holds an elementary education degree and theology minor. She and her husband are proud dog parents and love adventuring with them. Kierstie enjoys spending time on the lake, camping, and jamming out to some good music. |
SUPPORT STAFF
Emily Rogers | Administrative Office Assistant
Emily grew up a Jersey girl with 5 siblings; then after high school high-tailed it to California for a year. From there, she rode a motorcycle to Alaska where she stayed for 41 years. In addition to a 21-year career as an elementary teacher, she’s been a secretary, state trooper dispatcher, report editor, grocery store butcher, plus many more. Emily’s husband, Tom, is a retired banker, originally from Coeur d’Alene (Class of ’66). His son has given them 3 wonderful grandchildren. The love shared with the congregants and co-workers keeps her coming back (as well as the $ that helps sustain her quilting habit)! |
Stephanie Rogge | Bookkeeper
Bookkeeper for 1st Pres since 2018, Stephanie has many years of bookkeeping and payroll experience. She worked as an Accounting Technician for a CPA in Helena, MT and worked for the State of Montana in Human Resources/Payroll for nearly 9 yrs. She was also a volunteer bookkeeper in two different churches. Stephanie is married to Leo and has 2 grown children. Her interests include gardening, cooking, and church activities. |
Brandie Edwards| Custodian
Brandie joined the team at 1st Pres in 2021 to take on the challenge of caring for the church buildings and grounds. Brandie is a former Marine and has worked in many industries giving him that jack of all trades experience that 1st Pres needs. Brandie is married to Amber and they have 6 children and 3 grandchildren. Brandie enjoys spending time with family doing life and fishing whenever they can. |
Janet Starkey | Director of Communications
Janet's career in Marketing Communications led her directly to 1st Pres. Starting to serve in October 2019, Janet has found this to be a dream job. It's a pleasure to serve this wonderful community. She is married to Craig and between the two of them, they have four grown children. She loves to knit, quilt, read, cook, sing and garden in her gorgeous backyard. |
Kent Kimball| Music Director
Kent grew up in a musical family and began performing as a child. He has directed choirs in Presbyterian churches in CA, NE, and WA. He graduated from USC where he studied business and music, and over the years he has dabbled in theatre, opera, voiceovers, movies, and commercials. He and his wife, Norilee, have 4 beautiful daughters, 4 great sons-in-law, 9 grandchildren, and one more on the way. Kent manages K2 Landscaping, a company he founded 27 years ago. He loves adventuring and climbing mountains, but his greatest passion is conducting church music. |
Heather Bell | Nursery Care Worker
Heather Cederblom Bell is a 4th generation Coeur d’Alene native who was raised in First Presbyterian Church. She spent 17 years teaching second grade out of state then returned home to marry Dr. George Bell. She has an adult son named Prentice. She loves babies and children. Her interests are traveling, collecting sea shells, painting rocks, spending time on the lake and riding her e-bike.

Naomi White | Office Assistant / Receptionist
Naomi grew up in Ohio and went to college in New Mexico, but Coeur d’Alene feels like Home. She has always loved children and is excited to have the opportunity to connect with families and show our 1st Pres kids how much God loves them. Naomi and her husband Isaac have one adorable little boy. Naomi loves board games, books,camping, and any craft she can get her hands on! |
Ray Weaver | Worship Music Specialist
Ray is passionate about music and worship, serving, and seeing people become Christ followers. He is married to Arlene and together they have 2 daughters and 1 grandson. Since graduating from Northwest University with a Bachelors Degree in Music, Ray served as minister of music for 36 years in 3 churches. He presently works with the Developmental Disabilities Administration for the state of Washington. Some of his activities include playing in Tuxedo Junction Big Band, accompanying, hiking, family activities, and is a huge UW Huskies fan. |
