Venture
Venture is a fantastic mid-week opportunity to grow in your faith and create great new friendships. Choose from several adult studies (typically late afternoon and evening) and an optional meal and worship time. Open to all, Venture features a new children’s program and a regular youth group.
As a church family, we want to be sure everyone has an opportunity to grow in their faith and create great friendships – beyond just Sunday mornings. Venture is a unique, special time to connect with others, worship the Lord, and go deeper in our walk with God. We currently run two sessions per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall, meeting every other Wednesday of the month from 4 pm to 8 pm.

This is a great way to become more engaged with the life of the church, and is a must if you’re seeking membership. Led by Pastor Craig Sumey. Meets in the Conference Room. The Good and Beautiful Community (6:45 pm – 8:00 pm) We will meet with other adults in a small group to discuss the third book in James Bryan Smith’s Apprentice Series. We will be studying that amazing book we call The Bible, and discovering simple ways to dig deeper into its truths and find daily, practical application for our lives. Open to all men. Led by Brad Andrysiak and Rob Blackston. Meets upstairs in the Lakeside Room. My Name is Victorious – A Women’s Study (6:45pm – 8:00pm) We all have names we carry around with us. Some of them are wonderful: Friend or Loved One. We wear those names with pride. Other names, not so much. We’ve embraced names like: Not Enough, Unqualified, Damaged, Depressed, and Overwhelmed. We don’t have to identify with those names any longer. Join us on a unique 6-week study, selected by the Fall Venture group, that will inspire you. Open to all women. Led by Lynn Sumey. Meets upstairs in the Hunter Conference A. |
DYG – The Downtown Youth Group (6:45pm – 8:00pm)

Venture Kids (6:45 pm – 8:00 pm) The Kids’ Travel Guide to the Armor of God is a Scripture-based exploration that will lead your child into a faith so bold they’ll be able to stand firm in the midst of difficult or unclear situations. The lessons will help your child explore how to be strong in the decisions they make, and guide them in relationships with others. We will study a different piece of armor each Venture class day. Activities include:
Venture Tots (6:45pm – 8:00pm) Babies thru pre-Schoolers will have child care available to them for the evening studies only. There is no cost, but prior registration is required. Even if you are not interested in attending one of the classes, we strongly encourage you to come and join us for the meal and/or worship & prayer time. It’s an awesome opportunity to spend time with God, and fellowship with your church family! |

Guests – Guests are very welcome, but if they are going to participate in meal time, they need to be registered by the Sunday prior so we can ensure food is ordered for them. The cost is $9.00 per adult for individual meals.
